Chris Jericho is gone from the WWE

Y2J leaves company for Fozzy tour.

Jericho today revealed on Twitter that he is finished with his latest WWE run, as he is now touring with his rock band Fozzy. He thanked the fans and said that this year was one of his favourite runs.

So long to @WWE for now…2013 was one of my favorite in ring yrs ever! Thx for always sticking w Y2J & see u on the road soon w @FOZZYROCK!

This confirms what many were suspecting when seeing Fozzy’s tour listings, that the star shall miss WWE’s second biggest event, SummerSlam on August 18.

Jericho picked one hell of a match to leave on, coming out on the losing end of a fantastic Monday Night Raw main event against the returning Rob Van Dam in the Barclay’s Center. Unlike in previous exits from the company Jericho has left the door wide open with his words “So long…for now”, so the legions of Jerichoholics needn’t be too disheartened to see him go.

His band Fozzy can be seen in Europe before a lengthy UK summer tour and finishing up with a North American tour. Currently their final listing tour date is Thursday October 10, so there is a possibility that he may be back in time for Survivor Series.
