He may currently be causing trouble in the upcoming Jurassic World film, but it has just been announced that Vincent D’Onofrio will be causing trouble for a certain Man Without Fear in the near future.
D’Onofrio (Full Metal Jacket, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Jurassic World) will play Daredevil‘s arch-nemesis Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. The Kingpin, in the 13-part Netflix series based on the blind superhero. He joins Charlie Cox (Boardwalk Empire, Stardust), who is set to play Matt Murdoch, a.k.a. Daredevil. The character was last seen on screen played by the late Michael Clarke Duncan in the Ben Affleck starring 2003 film of the same name.
The actor was welcomed aboard the project by its recently appointed showrunner, Steven S. DeKnight on his Twitter page.

Marvel’s Head of Television, Jeph Loeb, also released a statement on the announcement. “We’re incredibly proud to have an actor with the gravitas and versatility of Vincent joining ‘Marvel’s Daredevil’ in such an integral role,” said Loeb. “Wilson Fisk is an iconic villain whose cunning and power make him the dangerous equal of our hero.”
Fisk’s character descriptions reads that he is “a powerful businessman whose interests in the future of Hell’s Kitchen will bring him into conflict with the blind attorney Matt Murdock and his alter ego Daredevil.”
Coming in 2015 exclusively to Netflix, the Daredevil series is part of a project that will eventually lead to a team-up Defenders mini-series (along with Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones).
