Book Of Mormon gets South Park’d

Most of you will know by now that South Park creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, have an award winning Broadway musical to their credit. The Book of Mormon, written by Stone and Parker along with Robert Lopez (co-creator of Avenue Q, song writer for Frozen), has picked up nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and a Grammy award.

So naturally, South Park fans have wondered whether their successful show will make it to the little mountain town in Colorado. The subject of Mormons had been tackled by the show in season 7 episode ‘All About Mormons’ back in 2003 but the musical, released eight years later, has not made the cross.

Now, thanks to YouTuber Simon Chong, there has been at least a glimpse of it. Chong has taken ‘Hello’, a song about door-to-door cold calling, and animated it as if the Mormons had arrived in South Park. All your favourite residents can be seen throughout, and it if nothing else, it is a fun experience to see the two crossover.
