Horn-Rimmed Glasses himself, Jack Coleman, will be returning for Heroes Reborn next year.
Coleman will reprise his role as Noah Bennett, the father of cheerleader Claire (Hayden Panettiere). He was also known as “HRG” – standing for Horn-Rimmed Glasses, his signature trademark – thanks to his initial nameless appearances. The character soon became a favourite of viewers and he was promoted from a recurring role to regular midway through the opening year. So it will come as good news that Deadline have revealed Coleman will be on board for the show’s return in the form of its 13 episode mini-series Heroes Reborn in 2015.
There had been belief that former cast members would play some role in the new miniseries that focuses on a new cast of superpowered people. It is reported that both Zachary Quinto and Milo Ventimiglia – who played Sylar and Peter Petrelli respectively – have also been contacted for appearances, but they are seemingly unavailable as it stands.
Expected to follow a similar formula to the original series, seeing ordinary people waking up to discover new powers, creator Tim Kring is hoping to recapture the imagination of audiences the way he first did back in 2006. But will the decline of the series after the success of its freshman year still linger over Reborn?
