Quentin Tarantino has been a busy man recently, speaking at Cannes, putting the wheels back in motion on his Hateful Eight movie and considering a television version of Django Unchained. Now comes word that he will be writing a graphic novel version of his Academy Award nominee picture.
The miniseries will see Django teaming up with none other than Zorro for new adventures. Tarantino will team up with frequent writer of the masked swordsman stories, Matt Wagner, to create the story but Wagner will script the books. The series will be co-published by Dynamite Entertainment and DC and released later this year.
“I’m very, very excited about both this story and the opportunity to work with Matt,” Tarantino said in a statement. “It was reading his Zorro stories that convinced me what a good idea it was to join these two icons together. And the story idea we came up with is thrilling, and I think will be an exciting new chapter for both characters.”
This is the first original content to hit graphic novels, with Django Unchained having previously being adapted into a seven-part miniseries by DC in 2013.
Does the idea of a Django and Zorro team-up interest you? Would you want to see a big-screen adaptation if the story is good enough? The idea of Jamie Foxx’s Django sharing the screen with Antonio Banderas as an older Zorro is certainly intriguing. Sound off in the comments below.
This is gonna be so awesome

It’s certainly an interesting concept. Will be very interesting to see, especially with Tarantino having a hand in it.
