Jesse Eisenberg’s casting as Lex Luthor in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice has certainly been a contentious one. There have been rumours on what the new take on Supe’s archnemesis would see, and now there is another thanks to the actor being spotted days into the shoot beginning.
Batman News are reporting that an unrevealed source describes Eisenberg as having “a lot of hair.” This isn’t the usual look of the actor, instead it is “a bit longer, kind of loose and wavy, and it’s dirty blonde.”
The character of Eisenberg’s Luthor has also been described by the site, and it is unlikely what was expected. “Eisenberg’s Luthor has spastic mannerisms, like a 20-something guy that pounds energy drinks all day.”
The descriptions could be of Luthor’s early scenes, as it is believed the scenes shot were for, meaning that the character may still end up bald and more focused by the end of the movie – or just in time for a sequel. It is certainly far from confirmation that Zack Snyder’s take on Luthor will not be bald, Superman causing his baldness has been at least part of his hatred for the hero in many iterations after all. But then again, James McAvoy has gotten away with keeping his hair for the iconic Charles Xavier, so perhaps comic book fans are becoming more forgiving?
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice will arrive in cinemas on May 6, 2016 where all will be revealed.
