Star Wars: Episode VII villains revealed?

star wars vii 2

Naturally the following article contains potential spoilers.

Very little is known of the plot of Star Wars: Episode VII but now something may be known about its villains. Sources from the film set have reportedly told Making Star Wars that the antagonists of the sequel will be a trio of Jedi Hunters. The three people who will play them are Adam Driver, David Oyelowo and Oscar winner Luipta Nyongo’o.

The look for the team has apparently already been decided. “The villains are said to be characterized by black and chrome with troopers in similar black and chrome uniforms,” labelling them “imperial, but very new.”

The Jedi Hunters are said to be the cause of there being no New Republic after Return of the Jedi, and that they are worshippers of the Sith. They even plan to resurrect the Sith, with their aim to be to “protect the Sith at all costs and insure their survival.”

Plans for Episode VIII are also known by the source, who says that the film will see Luke Skywalker “outnumbered, tired and in need of help,” having spent the past 30 years of his life trying to prevent the Sith’s resurrection.

As for Oyelowo, he is voicing a character in the Star Wars Rebels television series, which bridges the gap between the prequel and original trilogies, so will his character be the same as in Episode VII? The source suggests that his role in Rebels will be the Imperial Inquisitor but this is refuted by TheForce.net who claim that he is voicing Imperial Agent Kallus in the trailer for the series. Judge for yourself:

Nothing is certain here, but the idea certainly sounds interesting. Find out for definite on December 18, 2015 when Episode VII hits cinemas. Star Wars Rebels will be Disney XD later this year.
