Possible Ant-Man Villains Revealed

Marvel’s first Phase Three film, Ant-Man, has hardly been without its problems. With all the recent director issues, including redrafting the script, the film has become marred in more attention away from the story and more behind the scenes. Now there finally comes some news about the plot itself.

JoBlo are reporting the villains of the picture. First is Darren Cross, the head of Cross Technological Enterprises, a company which, in the comics, competes with the likes of Stark Industries and Oscorp. He is also cousin to fellow villain Crossfire.

Played by either Patrick Wilson or Corey Stoll, Cross will have possession of a similar suit to Ant-Man but will be yellow and black and more military styled. The suit will additionally have a tendril apparatus coming off its back.

In the comics Cross is a Hulk-like villain, who gains his powers after experiments to solve a heart problem – like a villainous Tony Stark. So this presents quite a departure and sounds more in line with the likes of Yellowjacket.

As for Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang, he remains a thief like his comic book counterpart. JoBlo say he steals the suit from the house of the original Ant-Man, Hank Pym (Michael Douglas).

The suit itself “will be much more elaborate than we’ve seen so far with the helmet being able to open and close much like Iron Man and an assortment of red lights all over the suit, again in ‘TRON’ fashion. The helmet eyes will also glow red when closed. It’s said to be a much more complex and futuristic suit than we’ve seen so far.”

Ant-Man releases on July 17, 2015.
